Commercial Roofing

Metal Roofing

Durable metal roofing is a very popular commercial roof type because of its 40 to 60 year expected lifespan. There are several different types of metal roofing systems and applications available, and some even come with integrated solar.

Common metal commercial roofing materials include:

  • Corrugated galvanized steel
  • Aluminum, zinc, and tin
  • Tile sheets
  • Copper
  • Aluminum
  • Coated or stainless steel

Asphalt Shingle Roofing

  • Benefits of Asphalt Shingle Roofing
  • Affordable

  • Available in Many Colors & Styles

  • Name Brands Offer 25-Year Warranties

Built-Up Roofing (BUR)

A built-up roof system is also known as a tar and gravel roof. It is made by alternating layers of tar and gravel. The number of layers in the system will depend on the owner’s preferences and usage of the building. Typically, it is installed in 3-5 layers. The more layers, or plies, the stronger the BUR system and the longer it will last.

Built-up roofing has an expected lifespan of 20 years or more with proper maintenance. It is inexpensive and easy to repair, and is one of the oldest and most flexible roof types. BUR is UV-resistant and a heat reflective coating may be applied to assist with energy efficiency.

EPDM, PVC & TPO Roof Membrane

Thermoset Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) is a roll-based, durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane. Also known as Thermoset roofing, an EPDM roof system offers strong resistance to sunlight and pollution. The black and white rolls are not the prettiest commercial roofing option, but it is long-lasting, versatile and easy to install.

Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) roofing systems are adverse conditions resistant. UV light, chemicals including fats and oils, or bacterial growth are all slow to damage these types of roof membranes. They are lightweight, heat-reflective, and puncture resistant. The strong air-welded seams, fire-resistance, and tolerance of both high temperatures and high winds make it a popular choice for commercial roofs.

Spray-On Silicon

Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is a material that begins as a liquid spray that instantly expands into a foam, which hardens into a solid layer. SPF is an eco-friendly roofing material, which is applied on top of an existing roof. Although not extremely popular, this commercial roofing type has been around since the early 1960’s.

An SPF roofing system waterproofs and adds an insulating factor to an existing commercial roof. It can be used in any climate and will last up to 50 years with correct installation and maintenance. The integrity of this type of roofing system should be inspected at least once a year.

After a disaster, your prime concern should be the safety of yourself and your employees. Depending on the type of disaster, the stability of the structure of your commercial building could have been affected, even if you don’t notice it. You need an immediate professional inspection to know for sure if the structure of your building is safe for you to remain in the property. Stormz USA offers a free professional inspection, consultation and estimate.

At your first call, we will dispatch an inspector and project manager to assess and document the damage to your property. Your assigned project manager and our support staff will be available to you 24/7 to answer your concerns and questions. If needed, they will call in our disaster response and structural teams to:

  • Provide temporary protective roof coverings where the existing roof has been damaged.
  • Clean, repair and reconnect gutters and downspouts.
  • Drain contained water slowly and carefully from the interior of the structure to prevent undue stress which may cause structural failure. Make sure the decreasing water level remains equal to the exterior and adjacent conditions.

Once the damage is thoroughly documented, and temporary structural repairs are made, we will consult with our public adjuster who will assist us in making sure all damage is considered and properly estimated in our final report, which will help you file your insurance claim. We will sign an agreement with you to complete the estimated restoration repairs and assemble an expert team to establish a reasonable, but accelerated timeline to finish the project.

Partial Rebuild

When performing inspections of commercial buildings or structures after a catastrophic event, such as a hurricane, tornado, or fire, several types of damage conditions may be encountered. The unpredictability of storms can present many challenges when determining whether repair of storm-damaged structure, or complete reconstruction is appropriate.

Typically, the consideration is whether or not the structural damage meets the Substantial Structural Damage criteria. If it doesn’t meet SSD criteria, a partial rebuild is approved by your insurance carrier. If the damage does meet the SSD criteria, a complete rebuild would be appropriate. This is determined by applying the 50% rule to the damage. If the damage exceeds 50% of the structure’s pre-loss market value, then it’s considered to have substantial structural damage.

At your first call, we will dispatch an inspector and project manager to assess and document the damage to your property. If needed, they will call in our structural assessment team, and other experts, to help make determinations on the extent of the damage and whether a partial or complete rebuild is needed. Your assigned project manager and our support staff will be available to you 24/7 to answer your concerns and questions.

Once the damage is thoroughly documented, we will consult with our public adjuster who will assist us in making sure all damage is considered and properly estimated in our final report, which will help you file your insurance claim. We will sign an agreement with you to complete the estimated restoration repairs and assemble an expert team to establish a reasonable, but accelerated timeline to finish the project.

Other Commercial Services

Mold Remediation

A hidden leak in your roof, or pipes can continually saturate your insulation, drywall, attic, crawl space and other places in your commercial property until those places become an ideal breeding ground for mold. Continued exposure to toxic black mold has been identified to cause major health problems, so as soon as mold infiltration is suspected or identified, it should be professionally remediated or it will expand.

At your first call, we will dispatch an inspector and project manager to identify and document any areas of mold growth inside the commercial property. The source of the water infiltration that promotes the mold growth will also be discovered. Both repair of the leak source and remediation of the mold growth will be included in our documented findings and estimate. Your assigned project manager and our support staff will be available to you 24/7 to answer your concerns and questions.

Stormz USA is an expert in handling mold remediation in residential structures. We are licensed for commercial mold remediation in the state of Florida (Mold Remediation License: 251047).

Asbestos Abatement

Asbestos is a blast from the past–not in a good way. It was a common material used in building older properties. As long as it’s stable and untouched, it’s typically not a problem. After a disaster damages a structure, however, asbestos can becomes friable, meaning it is released into the air inside your commercial building. This could be spread throughout the building through the ventilation system. With every breath you or your employees take, you could be exposed to this toxic cancer-causing material until it is remediated.

If you own a property built before 1990 that is damaged in a fire, flood, hurricane or other disaster, it is very important to you and your employee’s health and safety that you call in an expert for a professional asbestos inspection. Stormz USA is the asbestos expert you need. We are licensed and experienced to perform asbestos inspections and abatement.

This is a data point in our free professional storm damage inspection, and will be included in our report. We also offer this service at an affordable rate for non-storm damaged properties. Give us a call today, so you can breathe easier tomorrow.
